13. Legal Status: Skill vs. Chance

Legal Classification of Matches

Our competitive Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) matches are classified as **contests of skill** under the laws of most major jurisdictions, including the United States, the European Union, and Canada. This classification is critical because gambling laws generally require an outcome to be materially dependent on **chance** (randomness) rather than **skill**.

  • **Skill-Dominant Standard:** In most regions, CS2 is recognized as a game where the outcome is predominantly determined by a player's knowledge, training, and execution (aim, strategy, map control, communication). These factors significantly outweigh any minor elements of chance (such as slight spray variance).
  • **Contests vs. Wagering:** By participating in a paid-entry match on our platform, you are engaging in a **Contest of Skill** where the entry fee acts as the stake in a competition based on your own abilities. This is distinct from illegal **wagering**, where money is risked on an event whose outcome is primarily outside the participant's control (e.g., a roulette wheel).
  • **Jurisdictional Variations:** While the skill-based model is widely accepted, certain local laws may impose unique restrictions on paid entry contests or prize pools funded by entry fees. Users are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws governing their specific jurisdiction. Our platform employs geographical restrictions where legally required to ensure compliance.

RESTRICTED JURISDICTIONS

Due to the complex, varied, or prohibitive nature of local laws regarding paid entry competitions, access to the website is currently **disabled** for users located in the following areas. This list is subject to change based on ongoing legal review:

International:
  • **Brazil**
  • **Canada**
  • **China (Mainland)**
  • **India** (State-level restrictions apply)
  • **Iran**
  • **Israel**
  • **Japan**
  • **South Korea**
  • **Turkey**

If you reside in an unrestricted area and attempt to access paid matches from a restricted area using other methods like VPN, you are violating this policy.

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing the fairest competitive gaming experience possible. By enforcing this Fair Play Policy consistently and transparently, we aim to protect the integrity of competitive play and create an environment where skill and teamwork determine success. Thank you for being part of our community and helping us maintain these standards.
